Attorney Deployment

Attorney William Sefcik, who is an Army First Lieutenant, has been deployed to Active Duty overseas in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Until he returns safely to our firm, please keep William and his family in your thoughts.

Theodora Vaporis Recognized as
“Best Estate Planning Attorney”

Congratulations to my law partner Theodora Vaporis, who was recognized this month by the News & Record as “Best Estate Planning Attorney” in Guilford‘s Best 2018! Theodora heads our firm’s Estates Department and helps with issues related to wills and trusts, including estate planning, powers of attorney, guardianship, estate administration/probate, and estate litigation.

Best Lawyers Recognition

Once again Black, Slaughter & Black is the only North Carolina law firm recognized by Best Lawyers in the category of “Community Association Law.” Our attorneys were also recognized in the categories of “Real Estate” and “Family Law.”

Smoking Ban Article

The latest issue of CAI’s Common Ground has an article entitled “Free and Clear,” which focuses on smoking bans in condominiums and in which our firm is featured due to work with a North Carolina high-rise.

New Attorneys

We have several new attorney faces around the office. Britney M. Millisor, who graduated at the top of her class at the Elon University School of Law and has been Clerking with the NC Court of Appeals, has joined our firm and will be doing assessment collections and general HOA/condo work from the Greensboro office. Joseph Thompson, IV an experienced real estate attorney with both UNC and USC diplomas, joins us after heading another large firm’s real estate transactional and collections departments. Jarrett Hayes, an ASU and Elon University School of Law graduate, has been practicing 6 years and has joined our Charlotte office to assist with title and real estate issues.

NEW Coastal & Triangle Offices

Due to a statewide practice in North Carolina and as a result of client requests, our firm will be opening both Triangle and Coastal offices by the end of the year. More details to follow!
